If I’d had my wits about me when we were remodeling our kitchen almost 10 years ago I would have pushed harder for linoleum. Really. It comes in a bazillion colors, is easy to clean (if you get a smooth finish) and is fairly timeless, I think. Plus you can create crazy patterns or have one solid color. The possibilities are endless. But instead we went with the trend of the time and ended up with 12 inch square slightly pinkish hued ceramic tiles that I have come to loathe. Oh well, at least my Simmies can have their choice of linoleum in many colors and patterns:
